About The Department
The department of Political Science started its journey in 2006. Initially the combination paper for the general degree course in Political Science had been offered under the University of Burdwan UG syllabus and from the session of 2019-20, honours course in UG level was introduced with 6 students. CBCS curriculum was implemented from the session of 2017-18and the CCF norm implemented from the session of 2023–24.
At present the department has two faculty members who have been involved in a variety of capacities; teaching/learning in the department, examination convenor, paper setter, answer script evaluator etc. in the collage and in the previously BU and present affiliating university BKU and engage in research as well.
The departmental students have been playing a key role to portray the actual performance of the department by taking sincere involvement in the extra-curricular/co-curricular activities, like Teachers’ Day celebration, Basanta Utsav, College Social Function and other activities along with the curricular activities.Besides these, it is very pleasing to note that, a significant number of the pass-out students of this department have either gone to Higher Education or jointed Government/ Semi Government/ Private services on regular basis.
