About The Department
The Department of Sanskrit began its journey in 2006, offering the subject as a combination paper for the general degree course in undergraduate level. Honours course in Sanskrit in UG level started in the year 2007. It adopted the C.B.C.S. curriculum w.e.f. 2017-18 session, followed by C.C.F. norm w.e.f. 2023-24 session. In spite of having a backward socio-economic rural base, a remarkable percentage of the pass-out students of this department have either gone to Higher Education or jointed to Govt/Semi Govt/Private services. Student has also qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) from this department.
At present the department has one substantive teacher and four SACT. Till date, the department has successfully conducted one state level seminar under the aegis of IQAC. Department has celebrated several cultural programmes like Teachers’ Day, Sanskrit Day and so on in the year-round. The faculties of this department have been acted as paper setter as well as examiner of affiliating university.
The faculties are extensively involved in various research activities.
