About The Department
The Department of Environmental Science started its journey in mid-2007, offering the subject as a combination paper for the general degree course. Subsequently it adopted the converted curriculum under C.B.C.S. norm w.e.f. 2017-18 sessions, followed by .C.C.F. norm w.e.f. 2023-24 sessions. Since its establishment, the department has been being engaged with the challenging job of running and popularizing the subject in this rural area. In spite of facing several constraints mostly beyond the scope of the college authority, it is pleasurable to note that a significant percentage of the pass-out students of this department have either gone to Higher Education or jointed to Govt/Semi Govt/Private services.
At present the department has one Full Time Teacher (State Aided College Teacher) and a moderate laboratory. Till this date the department has successfully conducted two interdisciplinary webinars: one International and one National. The faculty has been serving (or served) the affiliating university as a invitee member of the Undergraduate Board of Studies.
The faculty is actively involved with research as well as off-campus social activities giving definitive outcomes.
